Avoiding Litigation Landmines: A Survival Guide for Managers

One in five managers will find him or herself in litigation at some time during his or her career. This interactive course will test your knowledge of current legal employment practices, and the various types of workplace harassment. Participants will discuss the implications of improper workplace behavior and the importance of proper documentation to ensure a working environment that is free of harassment and improper behavior. Included in the workshop is a discussion on proper hiring practices, progressive discipline, and reductions in staff.

Biography:

David Cohen, PHR, has over 20 years of Professional Development and Human Resource Management experience at the Director level, with expertise in areas of training, employment law, and job search. He has developed a wide variety of training courses currently offered by Cohen & Associates.

David travels globally to conduct training courses for many international clients.

Prior to starting Cohen & Associates, David was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Director of Corporate Learning for Foote, Cone & Belding, one of the largest and oldest international advertising and marketing firms in the world.

Prior to Foote, Cone & Belding, David was Senior Partner in Charge - Career Development for Bozell Worldwide. He also held the position of Vice President, Human Resources Director of Bozell’s southeast region.

In 1990, David was assigned responsibility for the agency’s nationwide corporate affirmative action program. He is credited with developing “The Bozell Advantage”, the agency’s national training and development initiative. David traveled extensively throughout the U.S. developing and implementing training programs designed to address the career development needs of Bozell’s 2800 employees.

David holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina and received his PHR (Professional in Human Resources) accreditation from the Personnel Accreditation Institute in Washington D.C. He is an active member of the American Society for Training & Development.
