Rick Chapman's Great Reviews on Speaking and His Books:

"I remember Rick hosting the entire marketing track at an OS/2 show in San Francisco quite a few years ago... Rick was an entertaining and knowledgeable speaker, so I imagine the book is pretty good, too."

Sr. Product Manager, BMC Software
_____________

"When Rick Chapman writes about industry screw-ups and successes, he does it from the perspective of someone who was there. The insights he brings to the software marketing process are unique, and the Handbook is a must read for anyone who wants to compete and win in today’s software market."

CEO, Miacomet, Inc
_____________

"Unlike the fairy tales in most management books, Rick's anecdotes emphasize "worst practices"--Keystone Kops strategies, careerism, cover-your-butt management, and other symptoms of out-of-control corporate cultures. It would be nice to know that entrepreneurs today have learned to be much smarter. But of course they haven't."

Editor, Softletter
_____________

"I received your product marketing book. It's one of the few marketing books I've ever read that is chunk full of real, nitty-gritty, tried-and-true information. For valuable information like this "The Product Marketing Handbook for Software" is well worth the 60 bucks."

Merrill R. (Rick) Chapman has worked in the software industry since 1978 as a programmer, salesman, support representative, senior marketing manager, and consultant for many different companies, including WordStar (really MicroPro, but no one remembers the name of the company), Ashton-Tate, IBM, Inso, Bentley Systems, Berlitz, Hewlett-Packard, and Ziff-Davis. In addition to the Handbook, he is also the author of In Search of Stupidity, Over 20 Years of High-Tech Marketing Disasters.

When Rick lectures on software marketing at events such as Software Success' marketing bootcamp he enjoys quizzing the audience on computer-related trivia. His latest stumper is "What was the last movie Robbie the Robot (Hollywood's longest employed mechanical man) of Forbidden Planet appeared in?"
