* Funding and Capitalization -- In September 2000, I helped lead a five-year-old "SBIR company" through a successful Series-A Venture Capital funding exercise, securing $18 million in commercialization capital.

* SBIR Program Administration and Contracting -- I offer value to both companies and US Government agencies with Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) issues. I have over seventeen years of direct negotiation and audit experience on well over 150 contracts (including over 50 Phase II contracts), been a speaker at National SBIR Conferences on "How to Get Paid Fast" and "The Path to Commercialization", have kept the government money flowing for two of the most successful SBIR award winning companies in Texas, have negotiated improvements with the US Government's payment process for SBIR contractors, have helped a number of companies successfully navigate the Phase II audit and SBIR/STTR contract review process with the US Government, and have been very successful in guiding companies into Phase III and commercialization. In addition to direct contract-related issues, I am a specialist in guiding negotiations for favorable Overhead and G&A indirect billing rates with DCAA.

* Business Operations -- As a former COO, I can speak with authority on those things a small business MUST do to build infrastructure, hire and retain top people, ensure successful protection of intellectual property, and move research and product development into commercialization.

* Corporate Finance -- As CFO of four different organizations over the years, I can help design and implement cash management policies and auditable financial accounting systems designed to maintain positive cash flow and liquidity, and ensure financial integrity of the business.

* Marketing and Sales -- As a VP of Marketing and Sales, I developed marketing strategies and sales tools that tripled revenues for a company in six months. I can help your organization focus on those elements that will translate to successful attainment of financial goals.

* Corporate Planning -- Having helped develop Planning Technology software, combined with my having been Director of Planning for a top aerospace engineering company, I can help establish a Corporate Planning function that will guide the growth process.
